Infidelity and Betrayal Recovery

Couples Therapy Hamilton

Healing from Infidelity and Betrayal for Individuals and Couples

Not sure what to think, feel or do after discovering infidelity?

We provide support to individuals and couples experiencing emotional and mental pain, navigating betrayal and figuring out next steps. Whether it is reconnection, or trying to manage the impact of a life altering  experience.

The moment Infidelity comes to light, both individuals may experience shock. Safety, trust and the life that was known comes fully into question.

Some of the most common aching questions that arise are:

Can we ever rebuild what we have lost?  Will safety, trust or connection return?  Do I even want to try?

For the individual who has been betrayed: Will I ever recover from this emotional pain?

Often, both partners are navigating a crisis within themself. Which is why healing requires individual and relational repair. Support after infidelity could mean rebuilding together or parting with clarity  and dignity. Either way, therapy can help you find your self again, and each other, if that’s what you choose.

We support couples working through:

  • Emotional fall out after discovering infidelity or betrayal
  • Processing anger, grief and confusion while seeking clarity
  • Navigating ambivalence about staying or leaving
  • Understanding the deeper roots and impact of betrayal for both partners
  • Developing accountability, empathy and honest dialogue
  • Rebuilding trust and communication after betrayal
  • Healing emotional disconnect and re-establishing safety
  • Repairing intimacy and rebuilding closeness and connection
  • Improving communication skills to assist in the healing of both individuals
  • Trying to find a way to effectively communicate at a difficult time

We support individuals working through:

  • Processing the shock, pain and confusion after infidelity becomes known
